Cat and Koala's "Music for a purpose"

Cat says:

You find yourself sitting on the floor of your room, staring at your CD collection, trying to pick up a vibe from one of the brightly coloured labels. Snippets of songs flash through your head in rapid succession and you're thinking, "no … no … maybe …" because what you really want to hear is an illusive mood, not someone's music. You want to feel that someone out there gets what you're feeling … There are always songs you come back to over and over again. And months after the hideous break-up you come back to the songs you were listening to at the time and it brings the panic welling up again and you realise that the person you've got your eye on is exhibiting the same traits that drove you nuts the last time even down to the way he says "I'm kind of hungry, do you have any money?" …

But I digress …

There are tracks that send you dancing 'round the room and tracks that make you check how much tickets to Thailand are going for. There are tracks that make you send resignation emails to your boss and tracks that bring a tear to your eye. My favourite soundtracks not only bring back the images from the film but help me extrapolate the story … and my favourite jazz tracks send me singing around the house for three days straight. Whatever the purpose, music puts you in the mood for anything …

Everyone has music in their head. If you're not careful you may find yourself bursting into song in the middle of a conversation … but I guess that's okay if your life is a Broadway Musical. If it isn't you may get a few strange looks at best … at worst you may find yourself in a straight jacket. If you're content to continue singing maybe you won't mind too much.
If, on the other hand, you're just looking for some music to suit a mood you may find some useful suggestions on these pages …

Koala says:

Music is the best kind of therapy!!!! There's nothing better than finding music to suit every situation and every mood ..... When things happen to me, I can literally hear a song playing in my head to suit that situation. People and situations have theme songs - naturally I don't always share with them what these songs might be!

The songs:

Get Down 'n Stay Down Songs aka Music to Wallow By - feeling miserable? Need a soundtrack? Sick of people telling you to "get over it"????

Happy / Goofy Songs!- Isn't it funny that it's easier to come up with wallow songs??

Songs to chill by - coming soon. Not bad, not sad - just chillin'

Travel songs - coming soon. For those road trips, waiting at airports, bus stations and train stations ....
